It is my goal to create captivating images that inspire, provoke and stimulate powerful emotions.  To get to that goal, I have to think and plan and then go with the flow of the unfolding.

Telling a story with images is a skill that unfolds naturally in my minds eye. Working from a story board is common but I love the existential experience of letting a scene develop and to naturally be moving into the right place to capture the scene on camera.

At twenty one years of age, I stumbled into this incredible career as a News Photographer.  In that environment I had the opportunity to learn how to tell a story with the camera and how to think fast and make decisions.  Years of shooting by setting out to find the best light and angle have evolved into a level of experience that can be counted on when I am shooting on location.

My studio experience is extensive as well.  Creating a look with both light and lens is where I excel.  I have a great understanding of how light acts and reacts to color and surfaces.  The lens is an extension of my own eye. Knowing when and where to move the camera is a natural instinct for me. Focal length and depth of field are two aspects I pay close attention to.

I have learned from countless hours of discovery in time lapse and high speed photography.  Frame rate and shutter speed is a relationship that I love to work at.  Now - I look forward to making beautiful pictures together.
